The tools you will need to remodel your kitchen depend on how extensive your project is going to be and how much of the work you plan to do yourself. If you are going to do the whole kitchen, you’ll need some tools to remove the cabinets and flooring. Your first process is to get everything out of your kitchen, so you will need a hammer, a crowbar, a power screwdriver, and a saws-all at a minimum.
Most cabinets are held up by screws, so the screwdriver is needed to get the cabinets out without doing too much damage to the walls. If you wish to fit the old cabinets in a different part of your home, then you would need to be careful when you remove them. For anyone who is just giving them away, you don’t have to be concerned with damaging the doors or hinges. To get the top cabinets down and out-of-the-way, you will also require a step ladder. You might find it easier to take the lower cabinets off first, and to do that you will need to get the appliances out-of-the-way, and remove the kitchen sink. If you do not have a plumber for that, you will need wrenches or pliers to uninstall the sink, and garbage disposal, if you have one.
The saw will be needed to take off the countertop off since you will be sawing them into small pieces. Taking off the floor coverings will be easy after you have removed the lower cabinet. After you get this far, everything has to be out of the kitchen so you can inspect the walls and replace the sheet rock if needed. When it is not too bad, you can actually just patch up the holes or retexture the ceiling and also walls. Next you will be able to repaint the ceiling and walls, plus exchange the electrical plugs and switches. You will probably need drywall and painting supplies as well as electrical tools. You might have these tools already if you have taken care of things around the house.
When you have the painting done, you should lay out new underlayment, which can be nailed down with a hammer or a nail gun, or screwed down with a power screw driver. It’s also possible to use the power screw driver to mount the upper cabinets and lower cabinets. Some people really enjoy installing the flooring, primarily when linoleum is used, and then putting the cabinet on top of the flooring, but most people install the cabinets first. Next, you install the counter tops, put in a new sink, link up the plumbing, case around the windows and doors, finish the base, replace the appliances, and you have a new kitchen.
There are several individuals who have the tools and experience needed to redo the kitchen. Even so, for a few of you, there will be a lot to learn and a lot of tools to purchase.
